The High 5 Habit

What if you could take a habit that your brain associates with good feelings and apply it to your daily routine to make your life better?

The high five habit is what you’re looking for.

It’s easy to follow through once you start, and although it might seem gimmicky on the surface, here’s how it could affect your life:

Living a High Five Life

When it comes to our friends and family, we cheer them on in life without a second thought.

We want them to succeed, and cheering is a way to show our positive support for their journey.

And it usually works too.

Encouragement makes us push harder and be more likely to reach our goals.

Ironically:

When it comes to encouraging ourselves or celebrating our wins, we often don’t show the same effort.

How often do you pat yourself on the back for a well-done job?

Or say to yourself that you can get through this situation and have what it takes?

Rarely.

Instead, we impose all sorts of self-doubt, impostor feelings, and trash talk to make ourselves feel bad.

We deliberately look for flaws in us.

Instead of belittling ourselves, we need to give ourselves a high five 🙌 every morning.

A 5-second high five every morning gives you:

  1. An energy boost to tackle your day
  2. Confidence to perform well
  3. Encouragement to push harder

This might seem silly, but there’s science behind this approach and why it works.
